Meet Pansy–our November APE Achiever!

From scared and alone to swinging free, thanks to you. Meet Pansy! 🧡

Thanks to your incredible generosity, this little sweetheart has been absolutely thriving in Jungle School. Exploring, playing and learning what it means to be wild again.

When Pansy first arrived at our BORA Rescue Centre earlier this year, she was heartbreakingly tiny and terrified. She was so unsure of her new world, and desperately missed the comfort of her mother. But thanks to your compassion, Pansy is now blossoming into the cheeky and confident young orangutan she was always meant to be!

From those first fragile days, to now swinging through the trees, every moment of Pansy’s progress has been possible because of you!

Today, Pansy’s world is filled with friendship and play. She’s formed a special bond with Felix, another young orangutan in the Baby House. Together, they spend their days learning, playing, and discovering the wonders of the forest. Their friendship is more than just adorable, it's an essential part of learning how to socialise, connect, and one day, survive in the wild.

Together, Pansy and Felix are learning how to climb, forage, and trust again. Skills that will one day help them return to the wild!

At Jungle School, Pansy is a natural student, and she approaches other young orangutans with playfulness and curiosity. Recently, when a sudden noise startled her, she reached out to hold on tight to her friend Arto. A touching moment that shows just how far she’s come. Opening up and learning to trust!

Pansy’s devoted carers are endlessly proud. With their love, and your unwavering support, Pansy is learning that the world can be safe again.

Still just a youngster, Pansy enjoys five milk bottles a day (every 3–4 hours) and has a newfound love for jengkol fruit. She now weighs a healthy 6.1kg, and grows stronger, independent and braver every week.

Because of your kindness, Pansy’s future is looking very bright. You’ve given her safety, friendship, and a second chance to live wild and free in the forest. Where she truly belongs.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being Pansy’s hero and champion. Your kindness is everything to her. 🧡
